difference between Rosetta stone Spanish (Spain) and (Latin America)?

im taking a Spanish course in high school right now and was wondering wuts the difference between the two…and which should i use along with the class (obviously dont want to learn the wrong one) and if any, what is the difference?

they are the same in context but there are different words and ways to say things. think of it as british english and american english they are both english but there are different words for things.

usually in high school they teach the basics and it isnt that in dept were you can go and have a full blown conversation with people so you shouldnt waste your money on rosetta stone but if you want it and you wont change your mind then get latin america one its more modern

Is Rosetta Stone a good supplement for learning Spanish?

I am restarting college and i wanted to major in Spanish. I see the commericals on TV for Rosetta Stone and i wanted to know does it really help as a supplement (or as a primary learning tool as advertized)? Other reviews i have read seem mixed feelings about the product. Thanks!

Rosetta S is very good but expensive.

You haven’t said if you are interested in European ( Castillian) Spanish or American Spanish - there ARE some differences in pronunciation, grammar, slang etc.

There arehowever some great affordable online offerings. Its something I have also been putting some thought into - value for money has never been more important.

Good luck

has any one used rosetta stone for spanish?

has any one used rosetta stone for spanish cause i am thinking about buying it. i speak broken spanish, but i want to improve my spanish. i understand better than i speak so i want to improve on that. so if any one knows anything about it please tell me!!!!!

yes, i really like it because i’m a visual learner…meaning, i learn better while looking at pictures….now the rosetta stone isnt very good when it comes to conversational spanish but it sounds like you already know some spanish so that wouldnt matter……there is another item called pemsler (sp?)…its one of those cds that you pop into your car and just listen…but again i need to look at pictures and be actively engaged in the learning for it to work for me……hope this helps!

How important are the rosetta stone manuals to the program?

A friend of a friend is giving me their old rosetta stone spanish CD’s so that I can start learning a new language but they lost the manuals. How important are the manuals to the process? Can I learn with just the CD’s? Can I download the manuals from the internet?

Try doing the program without the manuals./ They are fairly important. Go to Google shopping and see if you can find any for sale.

Has anyone learned spanish from Rosetta Stone’s spanish products?

I want to learn spanish very badly and no, I don’t have the opportunity to live in a spanish speaking country currently. Anyway, I’ve heard Rosetta Stone is awesome, but I don’t want to shell out the cash without hearing some real success stories…

My husband is learning Spanish with it and i am learning Italian with it. We both have another full type of system as well in both languages.

I’d say we are both extemely hapyy with the Rosetta Stone. You can buy the bigger package that doesnt’ come with the mp3 parts for not as horribe of a price.

Feel free to email me if you have any other questions on it.

Rosetta Stone Spanish - works or not?

How long would it take the person of say average intelligence (not naming names!) to learn Spanish if they used Rosetta Stone computer method and also listened to learn spanish cds??? Rosetta Stone says 4 months, but I am thinking let’s get real here, I just started the method a few weeks ago but can’t see myself (I mean un-named) being fluent in 4 months. Any other English only speaking person tried to learn Spanish through Rosetta Stone? Did it give the results you wanted? Are you able to speak enough to get by in Mexico?

You will not become fluent from software alone. It took me almost 20 years before I could say I am fluent in French.
What is really funny to me is that anyone who has had some highschool or college French courses say that they speak French. Believe me they don’t.
Rosetta stone will give you a good number of phrases that you’ll be able to use, but you won’t be able to have a deep conversation in your target language.

Son wants to learn Spanish - Rosetta Stone is too expensive?

What’s a good alternative?

Look for free lessons on itunes podcasts. See if your local library has good lessons on CD. Different programs seem to work for some and not others, so your son should try a couple and see what works for him. Although everyone I know who has used Rosetta Stone likes it. But yep, too expensive.

Can I order a Rosetta Stone Spanish Language if I don’t have High Speed Internet?

Will my computer be to slow to load the CD Rom for this

no it should be fine clean you disk and defragment

Use Rosetta Stone Spanish? I would like to learn Spanish as well as use the program for my 6 year old.?

Is Rosetta Stone appropriate for a 6 year old? Is it effective? It seems awfully expensive, so I would like some info before spending a bunch of money. (I know I can get a demo, but I would like some personally feedback, too.) Thanks!

Rosetta Stone is appropriate for a 6 year old, it’s designed to be used by younger children - adults. HOWEVER, I don’t know how…entertaining / captivating it will be for a 6 year old, in other words I don’t know if it will hold his/her attention. It is very expensive, but it is decently effective, I’ve used it (I’m a linguistics grad student here in California), but I’ve also used other language learning programs that are just as good if not better and are much more affordable.

What I’d suggest to you are two other products to consider. Rocket Spanish and Fluenz Spanish. Rocket Spanish is $99 and you get it instantly. It’s just as good as Rosetta Stone if not better, but more affordable (+ I think this program will be more suitable for your 6 year old).

Fluenz on the other hand, is geared more towards young adults - adults. It’s more affordable than Rosetta Stone, but more expensive than Rocket Spanish. But it’s hands down an AMAZING product.

Hope this helps. I also included a PDF you may want to read (it’s free just click the link below) thats a general language learning guide. And also the site I included below has reviews on all these products + links to where to get them the cheapest.

Rosetta Stone Spanish?

I’m going into college, having taking AP Italian in high school. Unfortunately my University doesn’t offer Italian so I am going to take Spanish. I want to get a basic understanding of the Spanish language before I go to college this way I’m not mixing up Italian and Spanish since they are so closely related. I was wondering if the Rosetta Stone Spanish version is any good. I don’t need comments about the price or any of that. I just need to know if the program itself is any good for getting a basic knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.

YES!!!!!!! My husband took the Korea course for his military tour over in South Korea. He started studying it about 6 weeks before he got there, and he already had enough to get by. By the time he had spent 3 months there, he was able to carry on a basic conversation with a KATUSA (Korean… his roommate) and by the time he had been there for 6 months, he was rather fluent.
