I want to learn Spanish and want to know the best way.?

I am not sure what method will be best. I could take a class at the junior college, get a cd or downloadable program like Rosetta Stone, or Rocket Spanish. If taking a class is better should it be regular Spanish or Conversational Spanish? I live in California and am working on completing my Teaching Certificate program. I figured it would be beneficial and helpful to know Spanish. If anyone has any input that would be great.

Honestly, classes would be the best. There is a better experience in actually hearing the words spoken, especially if you are an auditory learner. When people go to a foreign country, they learn the language quickly. It’s like that on a smaller scale.

Rocket Spanish

Has anyone ever tried Rocket Spanish?

Its some kind of online spanish course that a buddy showed me.

Anyone have any experience with it?

I've used Rocket German, and yeah it was good :)

Rosetta Stone vs. Rocket Spanish?

I’m seriously trying to learn Spanish (Latin America) and am looking for a good software program to help me. I’m torn between Rosetta Stone, which is more expensive and Rocket Spanish. Anyone have any reviews on either? Can you suggest another, perhaps better software program?

The best has to be Rocket Spanish

Check it out and see what you think.

Rocket Spanish

What is the best system for learning spanish?

I've heard about Rosetta Stone and Rocket Spanish. But I don't know what the best way is.

The best way I've found to learn Spanish is to restrict yourself to using english. To get the words in your head, try taping notecards on items around the house and use the Spanish word to describe them. If you uses them in your daily language, it's easier to keep them in your head and catch on to what others are saying. Also, try to hook up with someone in your Spanish class, if you are taking one, or if you know someone who speaks Spanish that you can practice with. If you are trying to teach it to yourself, good luck!

What is the best spanish course to use on the computer?

I cant decide between Rosetta Stone, Rocket Spanish, or Aurolog. I've heard great things about all of these programs, but I think Aurolog might be the best so far. What do you think?
Im not concerned with the price, only the quality of the course.

I hear aurolag is the best. It's supposedly the most comprehensive, helpful, easy, and fun. Plus, it includes the basic to advanced levels of the language all in one kit, whereas you have to buy levels 1, 2, 3 seperately with rosetta stone. I've used Rosetta stone, which is also good, but gets pretty redundant and vague at times. Never heard of "rocket spanish." I'd go with aurolog. It's definitley pricey, but you said that's not an issue. Good luck!

Where can I buy Rocket Spanish audio book in Metro Manila?

Does anybody know where I can find one in Metro Manila or nearby areas?

idk but i'll be going to makati in like 33 days

Pimsleaur or Rocket Spanish?

I bought Rocket Spanish, and I am not impressed. My library offers Pimsleaur but I heard that Pimsleaur has out dated vocabulary. Many websites say that Rocket Spanish is number 1. Any suggestions?

Pimsleaur seems to be only good teaching for "tourist" PHRASES—DOES NOT DO WELL FOR TEACHING THE CONJUGATION OF VERBS SO THAT YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN SENTENCES SO AS TO ADEQUATELY EXPRESS YOUR OWN THOUGHTS ACCURATELY ENOUGH TO PROJECT ":BASIC" COMMUNICATIONS—THEN,YOU'RE LEFT "IN THE LEARCH" WHEN THE RESPONDENT REPLIES ,QUICKLY, IN THEIR NATIVE TONGUE!!!.

Rocket Spanish Discount?

Does anybody know where to get Rocket Spanish for less than what's on the site? I can't afford $99.95 (it always says it's that much on the website but then it says its going to change to $250 or something but it never seems to change) but I've seen heaps of reviews of it so I'm def getting it. I'm goin to Barcelona in about 5 months so I've gotta know a little bit more than hello and goodbye. Thanks for your help!

Its not an actual discount, but I bought RS through spanish-reviews.net for $99 and they deposited 20 bucks back into my paypal, so i basically got it for $79, which is handy cose I live in Australia and $20US was like $40 at the time:)

Rocket Spanish vs Rosetta Stone for learning Spanish on PC? Or something else?

Has anyone tried Rocket Spanish? Is it any good for intermediate+ learning ? I'm thinking of going for it due to its relative cheapness compared to other packages (e.g. Rosetta Stone).
Or any other recommendations out there?

Thanks.

I tried Rosetta Stone for Spanish. It was effective to learn basic words and sentences. It does not have any translation, grammar or conjugation instructions though so it will be very hard to go beyond the basics with it. There is no way to be fluent with it and if you are an Intermediate learner, it would not be useful for you.

My college uses a software called TeLL me More, by Auralog. It covers not only the basics, but also intermediate or advanced level. It is also a lot less repetitive. My goal was to become fluent so it was perfect for me. It has a lot of different activities: picture/word association, videos, dialogues,…, includes also grammar and conjugation. It has also more content than any other language software. Their speech recognition is great so you can have a dialogue with the computer. You can check out their website at http://www.auralog.com for a free demo and compare too. You can check out independent reviews on the web too http://www.toptenreviews.com or about.com websites.

The best way to learn a language would be through immersion, visiting these countries. Learning a language will require some time. In addition to software, you can have books which are useful as well. Audio CDs like Pimsleur for instance might help you out but you cannot get any feedback on your pronunciation so I did not like it so much
